Dr. Darwin Chen

Dr. Darwin Chan is actively involved with the development of local cultural and arts.

He serves as Chairman of the Committee on Performing Arts, HKSAR Government. He is also the Board member of both China Charity Federation and China Youth Development Foundation. He is a recipient of the “All China Outstanding Philanthropic Worker Award” from the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the Chinese Government.

 

For the past 20 years, Dr. Chen has taken an active role in developing continuing education in Hong Kong, thus he is selected as Chairman of the Advisory Board of the School of Professional and Continuing Education and Chairman of the Careers Advisory Board of The University of Hong Kong.

 

Dr. Chen is a strong supporter of charity work and serves on the boards of many charitable organizations in Hong Kong and mainland China, as well as international non-profit bodies, including Habitat for Humanity China and Plan International Hong Kong, etc.

 

Dr. Chen has been awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star by the HKSAR Government in recognition of his community service. He was also awarded a Doctor of Social Sciences (Honoris Causa) degree by the University of Hong Kong.
